Biography
Helen Polichronatou
Dr Heleni Polichronatou was born in Piraeus, Greece. Studied Painting (under the supervision of Professors George Mavroidis and Dimitris Mitaras - graduated the 1983) and Sculpture (under the supervision of George Lappas- graduated the 1994) at Athens School of Fine Arts (ASKT). PhD thesis on the subject “Art Work of Big Scale in the Urban and Natural Space. From the decade of 60 up to the 21st Century” (under the supervision of Dimitris Mitaras – ASKT 2007).
Active artist of her generation H. P.has presented her work in a series of personal exhibitions. She has presented drawings, sculptural, painting and installations in exhibitions in Greece, Holland, Romania, Albania, Turkey, Canada, France, Italy, Lebanon, Morocco and elsewhere. She has published texts on the relation of Art with the ecology, environment, Public Space and Technology. She has taught at all levels of education.

In 1999 Polichronatou represent the Athens School of Fine Art at the International Meeting of ART, Park of the Future, a new type of aesthetic park at the grounds of the Westergasfabriek in Amsterdam. This seminar organised on the occasion of the celebration of 75 years Gerrit Rietveld Academie and the retirement of president Simon den Hartog.
